The Prophet and his successors would be the best marriage councillors, but in this case, he is getting two representatives (judges) from each side, and letting them make the case for them, and then seeing if husband and wife want to solve the issue or divorce, he is not interfering more then that.
He is just seeing their side and what they want to do.
Relax bro, yes Quran makes sense, yes I proved my case that the Quran doesn't teach to beat women, as can even be seen by the verse that follows which shows what really to do if their is a breach of agreement.
