DNA Proves Existence of a Designer

You know, this would make for an important separate topic: why can't Christians embrace the evidence of their senses and science without losing their faith?  

Right?  It's only Some Christians™ though.......many are perfectly capable of compartmentalizing their beliefs about divinity and the status of some matter of natural fact.  For those that aren't so capable...you have to wonder what life is like.

Is god turning some gargantuan spigot in the sky every time it rains? 

The speculation I thought was most on point is that what really matters is not losing their community standing.  A shared understanding of the scripture is felt to be essential for a continued sense of belonging to that community.  Since you can't get the whole community to take the step to incorporate evolution together, no one must change a thing.  It is too bad and is a real hinderance for them all.  Soon they'll have little communes like the quakers where everyone seals themselves off from the modern world.

The conservative appeal of a stolid monolithic orthodoxy. In effect, those incapable of the above already have cloistered themselves into little huts. Other christians know what kind of christians live in those huts.
