And be careful which historians you follow... late 19th and early 20th century "historians" were known to be specifically searching for anything that could confirm the bible. Not a very unbiased way to write history.
And what makes you think that you need saving from hell?
I'd be wary of an institution that makes you fear a thing which is not apparent and then sells you the cure.
Annihilation is inevitable... Tell me, what happened to the peasant that lived 1000 years ago in rural France? Or the Roman soldier that died in battle against the Germanic barbarians? Does anyone remember their names? their personalities? their faces?... no, they're lost to time... they've been annihilated. Just like you will be, someday... and I will be and most of us.
Some of us live on in people's memories - From Socrates, to Marcus Aurelius.... from Alexander the great to Genghis Khan, from Charlemagne to Vivaldi, from Mozart to Michael Jackson - but most of us are eventually cast into oblivion.
I admit that it is not a pleasant thought, but it is what it is.
Yeah, but the historians would have to be the ones that spoke of Jesus. They were all credible, at least I never heard anything bad about them.
You mean the gospel writers?
Can you call them historians? or were they more story tellers?

Verily I say unto thee... heed the false words of others, as you trust mine own, for you know in your heart that I speak the Truth.
