That's identical to how I operate - I try to do things that make me feel good and avoid doing things that make me feel bad. Being healthy? Feels good so I strive for that. Achieving things at work? Feels good so I strive for that. Needlessly dumping tons of carbon into the upper atmosphere by taking a holiday on the Falkland Islands? Feels bad so I try to avoid doing that. The list goes on and on and on. I've never understood the query in the OP in the slightest TBH.
I'm told by a fellow member that the purpose is to love and glorify God. Apparently according to some it's more specific than just feeling good.
