Yes Brian, i understand that evolution produces violence. However, humans are violent just for the sake of violence. They are violent towards each other, just because they can be. I'd like to think that a truly evolved mind would beyond such mindless actions. This is why I say I hate humans. I like individual persons, but as a species, I can not stand them.
We are not saying anything different here. I do not like the dark side of our evolution in our ability to be cruel, we certainly can be. But like you I certainly can and do like individual human beings whom display the empathy and compassion our species is also capable of.
Evolution isn't a utopia unfortunately. It is still up to humans how we choose to interact.
