OFC, and that's part of why bananamanite arguments will be consistently savaged. A person asserts that only god can explain our food and is informed, in no uncertain terms..that we explain our food.
(I wonder if ev is familiar with the saga of the bananaman?)
I run on the general assumption that no matter how ridiculous a persons beliefs may be, it's important...at least to them, that they present those beliefs in a way that does not damage their credibility - that possessing some explanation of their beliefs which isn't demonstrably false with respect to known facts and..further, in a way that isn't internally contradictory, is a preferred state of affairs for the believer. If all that the faithful used their interactions with the faithless to do was improve their own explanation for their beliefs this would be a win win for everyone involved, including the faithful advocate of a meat fairy.
So, while we wait to hear back from Ev on whether or not it matters -to her- that her beliefs not contradict known facts..let's turn our attention instead to internal consistency.
The rejection of a cold and cruel universe or cold and cruel god is not consistent with a soul making theology. A soul making theology positively asserts that this world is full of coldness and cruelty and indifference. If it weren't a cold and cruel world there would be no need to invoke some better world where all wrong is made right, where a person is compensated for enduring that coldness and cruelty. The soul making theology asserts that god -intentionally- subjects us to natural evil..it doesn't reject a world overfilling with it - it asserts another world where we find the justice absent in this one. If this natural evil were not present there would be no soul mill..so to speak, to refine our spirits like so much raw grain.
A person advocating for soul making theology is telling us in the strongest terms that a cold and cruel universe -does- make perfect sense to them, as a soul improving machine. The gears turn and grind all of this life, this flesh and bone..to dust...but in the process of that create a finished product of us. This universe (and/or this god) -is- cruel and cold, but hopes that the application of natural evil will improve us. Now, while I don't believe in any of that shit - I do think it's important for people who do to understand what it is they believe..if for no other reason than to accurately express it to others.
-and there's another thing we'll just have to wait and see if Ev cares about. Is it important -to her- that she understand her own propositions as they relate to her beliefs.... and can accurately communicate them?

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
