You have blown passed nothing. You avoid them because you can't answer the whys, and because they prove you wrong. Science doesn't attempt to answer why because it's not their job to answer the whys of our existence, and they leave that to philosophy. Science only attempts to understand how an already existing and operating universe works in order to improve our lives in numerous ways.

Science definitely wants to understand HOW the present state of affairs evolved from a prior state of affairs.
Science tries to understand prior conditions, that led to present conditions.
