There is evidence of regional floods. They happen all over the world.
A flood as described in the Bible did not, or could not have happened.
There are cultures all over the world that existed before the Biblical flood was supposed to have occurred and continued to survive during and after the Biblical flood supposedly occurred. Their history is continuous without any interruptions. If a global flood occurred, then why the cultures with continuous, uninterrupted histories?
There is no evidence in any field in science that a flood as described in the Bible could have, or did occur.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
