Everena: The links are fine and you are now officially a science denier.
Saying it doesn't make it so. I've explained why those links don't demonstrate anything. All you can seem to do is call names.
Quote:I don't see Penrose or Hamerhoff listed. I am tempted by the In-depth workshop on Psychedelics though.
Everena: That link was from Hameroff;s website at the University of Arizona.
Then he probably ought to have listed himself. Regardless, a conference doesn't prove anything beyond the ability to organize a conference.
Quote:Sorry, but Hamerhoff's been co-publishing with Deepak Chopra, and that means that I simply can't take him seriously anymore. You might as well start talking about crystal energy for all the credibility he has.
Everena: You never took him seriously to begin with. He still has a partially proven theory with 20 testable predictions, 6 of which that are now confirmed and none that are refuted. It is proven and corroborated science no matter what someone like you pretends to think. Deepak is only in the picture because he has studied consciousness extensively too, but from a different perspective.
I took it seriously enough to look it up and think about it. I even gave you predictions of my own. Explain to me how magnets don't sheer your soul away. How can you survive an MRI? Why does consciousness always focus on the here and now if it's being received from elsewhere? Why do we not observe intricate arrangements of microtubules in computational arrays?
Deepak Chopra hasn't studied consciousness from any perspective. He's a woomeister peddling deepities to suckers.
