Fuck, another fact I was not aware of. I didn't know we bombed Tokyo. If the non nukes killed more in that raid, you'd think with all that damage they'd have given up without the nukes.

Google ‘Operation Meetinghouse’. If the Allies had lost the war, everyone connected with this raid would have been executed for war crimes. Made the firebombing of Dresden look like a picnic.

Funny you should mention Dresden, that same hour mentioned it after Hamburg. Churchill caught lots of shit for Dresden.

But, I can tell you, having been married to a Japanese woman, knowing her grandparents were on the enemy's side. It is still sad, regardless, to know that our governments respectively get pitted against each other. Fat Man and Little Boy ended the war, but it is horrifying in our species, knowing what decent people her  grandparents were, and how they raised her parents, thus her, and hating in the end myself, how our species can get to such horrifying events.

I find war important to history, not for the glorifying of such, but important to understand so we can avoid it as much as possible.
