Sometimes those are the best stories. My mom used to tell the ones she grew up with. Other than that, we had Golden Books. Always loved The Three Billy Goats Gruff.
I don't know if they still do it, but the schools had the Scholastics Books order forms about twice a year, and that was such a big deal for the kids.
