Andy Weir's new book due out May 4th.
Hail Mary, A Novel:

[quote]A lone astronaut must save the earth from disaster in this incredible new science-based thriller from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Martian.

Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission—and if he fails, humanity and the earth itself will perish.

Except that right now, he doesn’t know that. He can’t even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it.

All he knows is that he’s been asleep for a very, very long time. And he’s just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

His crewmates dead, his memories fuzzily returning, Ryland realizes that an impossible task now confronts him. Hurtling through space on this tiny ship, it’s up to him to puzzle out an impossible scientific mystery—and conquer an extinction-level threat to our species.

So Andy has a new book. I remember a year or two ago I was using the Stellar app on my phone to look at stars, and whenever I passed the Moon there was a drawing of a woman that looked a lot like Rosario Dawson, which was unusual. So I checked what's going on, and it turned out it was an ad for his new book that was set on a Moon, and Dawson was reading the audiobook or part of it. I guess they thought it was going to be made into a movie very soon so Dawson was perhaps trying to secure her part in the movie.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

At work.

Okay......

Sounds kind of interesting. Though, just how many times can you look at things through the same trope?
