Apparently America sucks and is a much more expensive place to live. The reason, in the US they charge YOU for things that are paid for by taxation here.
Turns out taxing is a better way to fund things.
Taxation is fine as long as it comes with representation.
.... Currently the population is not being represented with the all gerrymandering they've got set up.
Taxes should also be across the board. There shouldn't be people and companies who are exempt; not rich people and not poor people. Everyone needs to pay their taxes if they like things like hospitals, emergency services, a military, and national parks and stuff. The problem with America is that we're turning ourselves back into an Imperial system with the oppressive class structure that we fought to break away from.
And who are the people doing that turning? The very people who benefit from not doing so. I was poor as a kid, and my dad was dead-set against any sort of charity, in spite of the fact that our family would have had more food without having to dive into a dumpster behind the grocery store. Of course, there wasn't a whole lot of charity in the form of food banks (that I know of) in the '50s and '60s.
