I am 39 now and I don't recall ever having them. However I will not stare intro bright lights unless I have to, like watching a traffic signal while to shines straight in your face. As a former competition marksman I always took very good care of my eyes. That is until a few years ago when a piece of metal shot into my left eye. The doctors got it out okay, and it was lodged away from the centre so it doesn't affect my eye sight. Since then I have gotten only more carefull, almost obsessive about eye protection.
