No. Your god could have simply stated "Thou shalt not own others as property" as a commandment. After all, he cared enough to issue a fatwa against shellfish. 

The god you believe in is such a mess that he made a rule against shellfish, but not against slavery. No, while shellfish were outright banned, slavery was somehow acceptable to the point that your god handed down rules for how to do it.

Explain to me how your god handing down a rule that says that one can beat one's slave so much that it's ok so long as they don't die for 3 days post beating? How is this treating your slaves well? It is flat out immoral and wrong. You know this.

Nevertheless, somehow, you subvert your own morality to support an immoral fiction. And promptly claim not to be brainwashed.

The options are few. Either you are brainwashed, too stupid to work it out or (and this is the icky option) you like it. Put those brown folks in their place, why not?

Your god has never said "thou shalt not own slaves" or anything of that ilk. Why has he never rescinded that BS? According to you, your god was simply dealing with the reality on the ground as it were. Somehow, your god is so scared and frightened that he/she/it/housecat cannot bring itself to outright ban slavery. It has to REGULATE slavery because it is too weak to ban it.

In fact, your god is so weak and innefectual that we all have rescinded slavery decades ago, but your god never has. Thus, when you object to bible slavery, you are simply telling all and sundry that your morality is superior to your gods. Despite the fact that some will accuse you of blasphemy for such a step, it is a step in the right direction. Just a tiny one.

Now, I again ask. Is there any time place or circumstance under which it is moral to own people as property? Are you able to answer that question? No you are not
