Yeah, we know about being seen as imperialists. And we are. Cheer up. In the aftermath of a hard Brexit, you folks might become our 51st state.
I think if Brexit proves anything it's that Britain will never become the 51st state of America. Look at how the country is on course to destroy itself as a backlash against being part of a union that actually benefits us and gives us loads of preferable treatment.
Anyway. I live in Scotland. We're more likely to claim independence and rejoin the EU. Northern Ireland will unify with Ireland and that just leaves England and Wales. Give it a few years for the baby boomers to die out and they'll be asking to be let back into the EU because the younger generation voted to remain by a large margin.
