That quote from your post is one of my biggest gripes with religion. What you went through...brother, you are amazing to come through this, witness to your very own strength and integrity. Religion didn't break you and breaking out through the terrible path coming to reality took you...instead of condemning you to eternal punishment, it liberated you and showed you how incredibly strong you are.
If you get bad days where the whispers from that door reach you even for a moment, you have real people here, with real compassion, reasoned words, and a hell of a lot of humor to make a louder noise for you.
Thanks for telling your story. Some of us did agonize over the break with religion, and your words are helpful.
