To be honest I don't see flat Earthers anymore ridiculous than creationists and I do preclude that you consider creationists serious?
The thing is that guy is quite serious Christian whose other books are about how Jews are evil and are cause of all evil, like they're behind 9/11 attacks, and do you take anti semitism as a joke? And also, aside from homophobia, that flat Earth book has lots of hate speech toward Jews.
Or, indeed, maybe you're right and that guy is a racist but also has a great sense of humor so he jokes on the side about Earth being flat.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
