We overcame the effects of "sin" seen as gods action taken a loooong time ago. God cursed adam to be a farmer and eve to horrific childbirth. Not a whole lot of farmers these days, and horrific childbirth is the exception to the norm.
Gods bad at curses. IDK why we'd expect him to be any better at them, though, given the state of his "designs". Poor fucker can't get anything right, according to magic book. If you step back to appreciate the narrative, the god these imbeciles worship is a pretty tragic figure.
