It stops at schools. Private businesses can make their own decisions about whether or what kind of security measures to implement. Schools are a little different.

I am simply saying it would be far cheaper to simply get the makers to give a damned about where their products end up.
Every time someone dies from use of a firearm, that costs tax payers money in police response, ME exames, and a mental health cost to the survivors too. Even if you can afford health care, injuries from use of firearms drive up the cost to all of us.
Vetting at time of sale, waiting periods, and red flag laws would go a long way to reducing firearm violence. Instead of what we do now, and wait to react.
Even with simple business models, if you cut corners just for the sake of speed, instead of preparing before a rush, something will break down, and the quality of the product will suffer, and both the consumer and worker will get frustrated.
There is only one reason we have the firearm violence epidemic problem we do. The makers only care about profits, and keeping and expanding their market.
