You got a point?
Yes. That you're much more likely to get shot by a cop than you are to be threatened by an axe-wielding maniac intent on dismembering you. Maybe you're the one that worrying about the wrong thing.

That side has bought a load of crap. Stranger on stranger interactions with firearms are rare compared to injury and death from the user and or someone the user is familiar with.
And it is a lie that only criminals get them. Most injuries and deaths start from a legal purchase. And this shooter also legally purchased his firearms.
No record at time of buy does not prevent the buyer from injuring or killing themselves or someone else after a legal buy.
But if anyone wants to argue cops shooting people, maybe if we don't want cops defaulting to shoot first, it might be beneficial for society to care both about cops and society by demanding the firearm corporations and shops to give a shit about where their products end up, rather than simply think "no record" constitutes "never will."
I just heard some Va official stupidly say, "Lets not have a knee jerk reaction" , and all I could think was, "How many times does shit like this have to happen before we do the right thing?
