Donald Trump was a birther, so no way he could've run as a Democrat and won.  He's an opportunist, and the Republican party was gullible enough to elect him.

Which suggests another point.  Trump couldn't have won without the support of Fox News propaganda.  In comparison, there's far too much fact-checking in the liberal press.

And what that means is that Trump became president because of Republican dogmatism and authoritarianism, which he exploited because he's a pathological liar and opportunist.
