Holy shit...
One of the El Paso police after the that shooting was asked by a reporter what we (as a society) could do to spot trouble. His response WAS CORRECT in that he RIGHTFULLY said "I am not a psychiatrist, that is not my expertise" ..... Ironically the asshole gun shop owner who sold the murderer the weapon said, upon the pickup of a web purchased weapon of war said, "He looked fine to me".
So if a cop admits they are not shrinks, what makes a gun shop owner a shrink either?
There is no way for ANYONE to tell when someone walks into a gun shop if that person will go their entire life doing no harm after the legal purchase. The TRUTH of reality is that most injuries and deaths, are not crimes of theft after a legal buy, but crimes after a legal buy.
I DONT want innocent people to be harmed. I do want society in general to stop assuming "no record" means nothing bad happens after a sale.
If a TRAINED COP is willing to admit they are NOT a psychiatrist then what makes a gun shop owner think "No record at time of buy, means no violence after a legal buy"?
Then on what other grounds should a gun shop owner refuse to sell? The buyer has no record, he doesn't appear agitated or upset. But you seem to want the seller to decline a sale based on the chance that something bad might happen after a legal buy.
I'm asking you (for the umpteenth time) what other criteria should a seller use to decline a sale?
