Lol. Your religion's continuation relies on peoples fear of death. Atheists are able to face the facts around death and accept them, being namby-pamby as you put it implies some sort of lack of courage, it takes no courage to believe any old nonsense that is put in front of you to make you feel better about reality.  

Believing any old nonsense might help you to feel secure and help you to sleep at night, but time is ticking for you, me and everyone else. Get used to it.
