Some people will defend them to the grave. My brother is one of those people; personally I find them to be poorly written and terribly transparent. He acts like he's some cinephile but he's nothing of the sort; I suppose I have a biased view of Marvel fans because of him, though.

Nice. I ate an eighth of mushrooms before seeing Jurassic World a couple years back... there's still nothing you can tell me to convince me it isn't a comedy movie.
