This one I'm reading is said to be one of his longer works, if not the longest. Start of it is boring as hell, but it has slowly grown on me with each chapter. Not sure if it's because of the contents of the later chapters perse, or just I've acclimated to the style enough to enjoy it now.
Well, I'm glad that you're able to get some enjoyment from it.
And congrats on being that guy who actually reads the books in his collection rather the simply amassing books that make him appear well-read.
I'm "OC" like that, lol.
I mean, it's a little sad that I've even read the whole Kindle manual guide as well ...

Part of the reason his work has lost some of its impact as horror is that it's so often been imitated. It's nearly impossible to delve into Lovecraft without having been previously exposed to Lovecraftian horror. I'm fortunate to have read him when I was young and he was less well-known. He was less quotidian then. :-)
I can imagine reading his works back in the older days would've been some a radically interesting experience, before the 80s (and later) horror movies became a thing.
