It comes off as a bit elitist, but I have to say I tend to agree. It's more comics made palatable for the masses than art. Eh, to each their own I suppose.
I agree with him, and I really enjoy Marvel movies.
But they’re basically like a really good Amusement ride, fun while they last, but don’t linger in your mind much afterwards.
The sort of Cinema Scorsese has in mind in the sort of great Cinema, in which you walk the shoes of the character, whose ideas and images can stay with you a lifetime, like Ikiru, or the Gospel According to Saint Mathew (by an atheist nonetheless).
