While I do respect those that served -
I have been quite vocal about the fact that the US Constitution does provide for a standing NAVY -a defensive force - it does NOT provide for a standing ARMY.
It allows Congress to raise funding and form an army - but only for a period of two years. Build an army - fight for two years and go home.
A great idea - designed to keep us out of the affairs of other countries - and prevent endless wars.
An idea the "powers that be" have chosen to firmly ignore...
