I just want to follow up by saying I have no idea what it's like to be black in America, especially this America. We have loads of black-American literature from other eras to which we can turn, but right now you're living a new black reality. I know what I hear about police brutality, income inequality, housing inequality and a lot more, but I don't know what goes on in your mind when you see a white cop. I don't know what it's like to have a harder time finding housing, loans, etc. than white people in your same earning bracket. I'm not comparing being racially stereotyped as a white person to the institutional racism blacks in America face. I know you've got it worse. I don't walk away from this conversation and have to live the disparaging remarks I hear. I'm merely hoping we can all stop making assumptions about each other based on our race. Shit, for all I know, you could be Ivy-League educated and the only thing you know about racial discrimination you learned in a Black History class surrounded by white kids. None of us know each other, so why are we all pretending to understand each other's intent? Why are we always lumping each other in with this group or that group? It's silly. We're all idiots.
