If the gods people describe are riddled with contradiction and paradox, then the gods people believe in are riddled with contradiction and paradox. I guess that's an issue for the rationality of god belief...but from an existential angle, it's unclear why it would be a problem. We're full of contradiction and paradox ourselves.
