It looks as though the translation you're using is not well made. Is it from some kind of translation software? It really doesn't make sense as written.
Here is a translation I found on line of the same verse. I don't know if the meaning is exactly the same as the original, but the English is correct and clear.
Quote:There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.
