That was a movie about a man who was going to kill himself and leave his wife and kids holding the bucket of 75K, rather than stand up to the fact the money was mishandled/managed by his staff who should have been forced to retire long ago, but because they were related he kept him on. He was going to crap on everyone and take the easy way out because he thought his life insurance would cover the loss... but that was only one month or one quarter's payment that was lost. who was to run the business after that one moth's payment was paid? who would ensure the next month's payment and so on?

His pride demanded he kill himself rather than face the shame of what others might think of him. Do you know how much it takes to show up daily to a place you are loathed/hated, and do your job day in and out for decades? what about one without pay? why do you think people do that, if not for some form of love?

if he was so selfless then why could he not do his job is people though ill of him? what would he then be accused of that the only crotchety old wheelchair banker not also be accused of? he had a certain persona/pride that meant more to him than life.
