Yup... That pic is from back when they made cars that didn't dent if you sat on the hood....
And all steel dash - and no seat belt.
Smash into shit and the next guy just hosed what was left of you off the dash - replaced the windshield and drove it....
Yup. I drove a 1960 Ford Falcon in high school. Steel dash, bench seat, with no belts. Pull-knob for a choke, and it worked like cruise control, to go about 40 mph.
On first dates, I'd make hard right turns...a lot...
