What you fail to understand is that cutting hands for thievery is better than throwing the convicted in a concrete cell for 15 or 20 years straight. Prison is a barbaric sentence in its own account; and worthy of Middle Ages and devastating to one's psychological state.

According to you, chopping off hands was to the "benefit" of the perpetrator, instead of imprisonment, which was so "barbaric". Now it suddenly is all about deterrence? But hey, wouldnt it be more deterring to imprison the thief, so he gets raped? Someone told me its worse to be raped in prison than to get a hand chopped off. Or, if imprisonment is too harsh for thieves (who only get their hands chopped off), do you imprison murderers? Rapists maybe? Or do rapists get their dicks chopped off (in case imprisonment is still too harsh)? Maybe rapists have to marry their victim for compensation, i think i have read that somewhere.....
Yeah, good idea: Chop off hands for thieves, and imprison murderers. Rapists either get their dicks choippe doff or have to marry their victim. Sounds like a fair system. You are right, imprisonment is so medieval barbaric. Lets try to avoid that completely.


What do you do when someone steals for the second time? Will your oh so fair muslim extremist society care for the cripple it produced? I mean, what is a man supposed to do without hands? What do you do when someone steals for the third time? Chop off a foot? Or chop again one arm / shorten a stump? *yuck, even the thought of your barbaric BS almost makes me puke* What do you do when someone steals for the fifth time?

Does embezzlement count as theft in your insane world? Does one get his hands chopped off for just "doing some illegal paperwork"?
