I think that you may be mistaken. Our system of policing was very explicitly founded on white supremacy. A non racist works towards that end as surely as a racist does. It's not a choice that they're presented with. They don't get to decide where they patrol or what constitutes a crime. They're modern day boogeymen, nightriders chasing runaways for a (shitty) paycheck.
I'll believe otherwise when I see a cruiser on the corner of every gated community street, where more pills and illicit drugs and blood money change hands than any ghetto. I'll still think that they're pieces of shit, in that event, but I'll at least acknowledge that they're equitable pieces of shit.
