What I know is that they can't make you happy. What they do is trick you into thinking that you need them to be who you are, but you didn't always need them. When you were young, and the world was brighter and feeling was effortless, you didn't need them. You grew into needing them, and put on those crutches, to help you get by.

If that were true, it's strange that I continue to experience qualitative improvements in every aspect of my life. I'm at peace, and happy. That alone is worth the price of admission, but that only stems from what is truly rewarding, which is to know the love of God. It's a personal relationship, and I experience the presence of God in my life at all times. God is as real to me as my own reflection in the mirror.
