That doesn't speak to consciousness, we would say a sleeping person is unconscious, yet be off somewhere in a dream, being fully aware in this space to the point of remembering the experience, which shows there consciousness is somewhere, just not in body.
Firstly, it shows no such thing, as your dream is entirely contained to your body - and secondly...you may have already employed a meaningful equivocation.
Have you ever seen a dead person do anything that would inform you that they are conscious, any of the things that living people do which inform you of the same? You asked me how I could know something..ultimately, the answer is the same way that I know anything else. You may disagree, but we shouldn't need to agree about what we know for you to understand how I know things.
Do you know of some other way to know things?
