Let’s be clear - no one has to support BLM as an organization. No one has to march with them, donate to them, wear a BLM hat, or post BLM signs in their front garden. It’s perfectly fair to criticize BLM as an organization.
But I don’t think any rational person would decline to support the concept that black lives really do matter. The alternative concept (black lives don’t matter) is too repugnant to contemplate. It’s not a claim that other lives don’t matter, or even that black lives matter more. As a concept, it’s the position that people need to recognize that a person doesn’t matter less simply because they’re black.
