Reality seems to say otherwise 

Cops have BILLIONS of interactions with people every year - and there are some bad shootings - but they are statistically a very small part of those interactions.

And if it were a billions shootings you would make the same excuse 

And cops DO go to jail for various crimes.

And many many many don't 

The cop haters would like you to believe that every cop is notching the butt of his service weapon with all his kills. That is total fantasy.
