As a former Pentecostal I can attest that Catholics are not only widely believed to not be Christians because of their veneration of Mary and the Saints (sounds like a pop group but Pentecostals consider it idolatry), but widely believe the Catholic Church is the 'whore of Babylon' described in Revelation, who sits on seven mountains (ouch!). The whore probably represented Rome in the time Revelation was written, which they interpret as the Vatican.
It has been my unfortunate experience to hear the most awful slander regarding priests and nuns. You'd think the real scandals would be shocking enough, but Pentecostals circulate what amounts to conspiracy theories and urban legends about the RCC, like there being a convent in Mexico where the priests repeatedly get the nuns pregnant, bury the babies in the basement, and if any of the nuns try to escape they're thrown into a giant grinder.
But I shouldn't let myself get started....
