Maybe it's me Cin, or the claims of openness like you just alluded to, to mean that it's different in atheists hangouts to religious hangouts. We know that in churches, for example, that other views are not welcome. Perhaps they would state that they're open to other ideas too, when in reality they're not. Strikes me now I've been attending an atheist church all this time 
I was just raising the question as it seemed interesting to me. I agree with Dad's point.. killing the discussion, or not participating is what I'd object to. I'd happily see offenders locked away in R'lyeh or kicked.
Plus I thought it might help some, as I don't see what staff here are on about when they're issueing warnings for preaching. Given the reasons suggested in the OP I was hoping for some clarification perhaps. Some reasoning either way.
