This is a discussion forum. He was not waiting for any replies before posting more information to bump his threads up in an attempt to spread a message, not spark a discussion. People are free to express their ideas here, but they are not free to simply bombard everyone with posts in some sort of attempt at informational attrition.

I just checked the moderator activity log. He was banned for spamming. I never checked out the urls in his signature. Not sure what he was spamming.

The reason I gave is considered spamming.

So... the only guy around here who had knowledge of middle-eastern history on par with minimalist has been banned, because he couldn't help himself from copy/pasting stuff from his website?
And this went on, in spite of a few friendly warnings?

I hate banning of an established member.... I'd be a terrible mod... Sad

He wasn't banned for his speech, but for spamming. As an open forum as you say, this is a place for discussion, not to spam propaganda.
