Impassioned speeches are nice, but we'd probably have settled for the administration declaring masks officially necessary, rather than what they did. The president of the united states intentionally mismanaged a pandemic in the united states for his perceived political gain.
There's no universe in which this would've played out without trump as it did with him. There has to be a better way to express whatever it is we're trying to say when we insist as much.
