What happens if the one party system does fall into place? What if it ends up being the Republican party, thereby dissolving the Democratic party to the point where there is no hope of it being returned in the foreseeable future?

Is such an event possible? I am not politically minded enough to know for certain, but I am smart enough to understand that such a future is scary for at least half of the country.

In such an event, will the Republicans take away your freedoms? Are you going to allow yourself to get stuck in such a country or will you have left before it was too late?

There is a precedent for such a state. It wasn't pretty.

I was going to bring up Ceaucescu’s Romania, but that seems to have hit the nail on the head. At any rate, if you want to imagine what life for women is going to be like under a strict one-party Republican system, watch 4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days.

To be fair, it seems like what the Republicans want is an ever-shifting mix between Gilead, Galt’s Gulch, and the west of Blood Meridian, so it’s possible that the simple act of trying to put an image to their desires is meaningless.
