I guess the bizarre thing was that in the end, all the characters moved on (to college) except Screech who still stayed in high school for some reason, making him even creepier, and now when these desperate actors gathered back to continue the show, they ditched Screech - I guess for some snobbish reason that he was not good enough for the show's high standards.
He was into some unsavory stuff including a jail stint for stabbing someone. I think the others moved away from him...and perhaps rightfully so. I wouldn't say someone was a snob for no longer associating with someone who had obviously taken a different path in life.
