What's wrong with writing in caps when the intent in so doing is non-malicious? The intent here is to show reverence to/respect for the GOD that ought to be feared, the Almighty.
Pro-tip for 'speaking' in text: all caps is considered shouting, not respect. Capitalizing God and pronouns associated with Him is plenty to show reverence/respect. Alternatively, one may write G-d; to show you respect God too much to say G-d, even in print. When you write GOD, what people tend to hear it as in their head as they read as someone unexpectedly shouting 'God!!!' or at least overemphasizing the word.
