Are religions that preach inequality for women and gays, traitors to their country?

Atheists - by and large - are very MUCH inclined  to end state support for religion, it’s a question of ginning up enough political support to make it happen.

Atheists have the high moral ground in this, and if you are right, I wonder why I hear so little on this in the media.

Atheists are a political force, thank the atheist god, otherwise we would still be stoning fornicators.

You hear so little about it in the media because atheists, in a very real and pragmatic sense, do NOT have the high moral ground. The high moral ground is whatever the moralists - in this case, religionists - say it is. 

Humanists are a political force (albeit not a particularly potent one), atheists not so much.
