She's not going to be impeached for that but it was a very irresponsible thing for Harris to do, but she had to do something to try to somewhat shed the image of her being Kamala the cop. When the bail got refunded, very few people paid the money back to the bail fund, and they just kept the money. So essentially, they were paid to riot, destroy property and break the law.

Except that the majority of those arrested in the protests wound up not even needing bail. A better critique (one which lines up with reality) would point out that a lot of that money ended up going to people who were arrested for far more extreme crimes unrelated to the protests. And I’m not certain any of the donors who gave them $35 million knew that it would come to it.
