Maybe that's why people think you're a racist? Imagine how funny it would be if another person had a higher opinion of you than the reality of you might warrant, and everytime they tried to launder your rep you popped in to demand that they recognize you for exactly the sort of asshole they think you aren't....?
No one person has come to me and told me I'm racist. What I'm referring to is the teaching of institutional racism. They're teaching the kids, starting in elementary school that our society is inherently racist to this day and if you're white you should feel guilty and ashamed. The current philosophy in the college's is that if you are a white American, you are inherently racist.
A friend of mine told me that, even though she is not racist, she apologized to her black neighbor for the racism she faced. I would be willing to.a knowledge that a black person has faced discrimination, but I'm not going to apologize for something I haven't done.
Society is trying to push the idea on us, starting in the schools, that if you're white, you are implicit in the subjugation of non-whites in America.
