And presumably misplaced paranoia (not even about politicians who favor gun control, but from a disproportionately large fear of the people who could potentially attack you if you weren’t packing) isn’t the slightest but toxic.
And the gun control laws, they’re less to predict future behavior and more to contain the problem. An imperfect solution, to be sure, but that’s what the point is.
Also, For the record, there is no real contradiction between saying “nobody’s coming to take your guns” and making it more expensive and inconvenient to own guns. Unless you think adding rules and regulations regarding firearms is the exact same thing as confiscating them, and, frankly, given how Crazy-wing your views have proven to be, I wouldn’t put it past you to believe exactly that.
